Rev Terry Broadhurst - Pastor Terry is originally from Leigh Park, Hampshire (near Portsmouth), where he lived in Leigh Park until moving to Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, in January 1972. This was a big deal for an English lad who thought football was the only game, and "what is an oval ball used for?". |

Terry attended Haverfordwest Secondary School until 1977 when he left to begin an electrical apprenticeship. He qualified as a "sparky" in 1981 and began working for CR Wheelers as an electrical quantity surveyor. He remained with Wheelers until leaving to train for the ministry. Terry trained at Spurgeon's College, South Norwood, London, between 1991 and 1995. He was on the Church Planting and Evangelism course, where students are church based, working and training at a local Baptist church whilst also studying at Spurgeon's. Based at Crawley Baptist Church, West Sussex, he worked alongside the Rev Steven Hembery, qualifying in 1995 with a Diploma in Church Planting and Evangelism, and a Cambridge Certificate in Theology. Following qualification, Terry was called to be the Associate Pastor at Upminster Baptist Church, Essex, working alongside the Rev Chris Hughes until August 1999 when he became the Pastor of Cosmeston Christian Fellowship Baptist Church.
Terry is married to Nicola and they have two children, Lydia ( born 29.08.89 ) and Stephen ( born 02.04.93 ). Coming back to Wales as a family is like coming home, particularly for Nicola as she is originally from Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire. Having grown up in Pembrokeshire, Terry - so many people tell him - has been "adopted" as a Welshman. This may well be the case but when it comes to loyalties and the Reds play the Whites on the sportfield, white remains the colour he supports. He is a keen football and cricket fan with a growing love for golf. |
